Data retention
By default, everything in a workspace is kept for the life of the subscription. Workspace admins can change that for three kinds of content.
Workspace settings → Data retention lets an admin set a window of 7 to 3650 days and choose which content it applies to:
| Content | What is deleted | Counted from |
|---|---|---|
| Chats | Chat sessions, their messages and any share links | The last message in the chat |
| Audience reactions and scorecards | Persona reactions and the scorecards built from them | When the reaction was generated |
| Narrative test reports | Narrative test runs and the reactions they produced | When the run completed |
A background sweep runs about once an hour and permanently deletes content older than the window. Deleted content cannot be restored from the app; database backups expire within 7 days.
Uploaded documents are not affected by this setting. Deleting a document removes it from the workspace immediately and destroys its stored file 30 days later (see Data retention and deletion).
Only workspace admins can change the policy. Turning it off keeps content for the life of the subscription again; it does not restore anything already deleted.
