April 2026

Covers: releases from 1 to 30 April 2026

April turned Content Writing into a full drafting studio, launched Reports, and made knowledge bases self-maintaining with scheduled source discovery.

Content Writing

  • Immersive writing layout. A full-width editor with a floating, movable AI composer and a right-hand panel for audiences, themes and suggestions. The composer can be dragged and resized, and the editor footer stays pinned.
  • Streaming drafts. Generated text streams into the editor as it is written instead of arriving all at once.
  • X-Ray mode and version history. See which audience each change was made for, and roll back to any earlier version.
  • Pull-through priorities. Define the messages a draft must carry, per project or per draft. Coverage grading shows which priorities landed, and Enhance draft re-prompts for the ones that did not. Priorities are stored with the project.
  • Theme-based analysis with recommended changes, and a Themes panel that suggests narrative themes to add.
  • Content types and templates. Content-type tabs, a template picker with reference-document upload and a hide-title option, and a new-document modal with multi-select templates and a source picker.
  • Voice & Tone. A three-step Voice Creator builds a voice profile from writing samples. Personas can carry several named voices, the Voice & Tone panel selects a voice per persona, templates can override it, and Content Creation voice settings live in Workspace settings.
  • Emoji control (None, Some, Lots).
  • Audience management. Searchable audience dropdowns, a starred roster of favourite audiences, and an audience chat bubble to talk to a persona without leaving the editor, with document upload and feedback controls.
  • Ripple Effects. Test a draft against secondary audiences to see the knock-on reactions.
  • Projects. A project header and selection modal; project documents load automatically when a project is selected.
  • Text quality checks. Grammar, spelling and AI-detection suggestions overlay the text and can be applied or undone one by one.
  • Documents view with tile and list browsing across several knowledge bases, and an edit/preview toggle in the footer.

Reports (new)

Build a custom report from a description and keep it fresh automatically.

  • Create, view and generate reports from the Reports page under Tools.
  • Auto-generate sections from a description, and edit the prompt behind any section.
  • Edit the report and its style after generation.
  • Export to PDF and deliver by email, on demand or on a schedule that refreshes the report first.

Reports are enabled per workspace. See Reports.

Audiences

  • Narrative reactions expand and collapse, with key actions grouped by the source that prompted them.
  • Inline audience chat in the persona editor replaces the old test panel, with document upload and feedback controls.
  • Audience Chat has its own entry in the navigation, and persona conversations open with quick-start template cards.
  • Faster reactions. Persona reactions run in parallel with per-persona status, and long-running reactions move to the background so the page stays responsive.
  • Select all / deselect all per persona group when building a scorecard.
  • Admins can choose the target month for audience reactions.

Knowledge bases and Library

  • Source watcher. Point a knowledge base at a site and Kumkuat discovers new articles on a schedule and ingests them, with a discovery view and scheduler in the knowledge base admin.
  • Bulk actions on a knowledge base: auto-tag, extract themes, run signals, re-extract dates, and set a tag value on selected documents.
  • Tag defaults in processing settings, so new documents arrive tagged the way you expect.
  • Crawled documents keep their formatting as Markdown.
  • Rename a knowledge base inline, and edit a document's extracted date on its detail page.
  • The Communications view respects each knowledge base's communications setting.
  • Marketplace: installed themes and personas are managed copies that stay in sync with the catalog.

Fixes

  • Crawler: follows pagination to find every article, extracts dates more reliably, handles bot-protected and JavaScript-heavy sites, and no longer mistakes two-digit years for titles.
  • Auto tags now show in the Communications view, including template tags.
  • Clearer errors when sign-in fails, and steadier sign-in when the database is busy.
  • Persona avatar generation restored.
  • Admins can reactivate a deactivated workspace.
  • Many Content Writing layout fixes: panel alignment, pill overflow, composer and footer positioning, drag behaviour.
