Glossary
Alert — a scheduled digest written from a template and an audience's point of view, delivered to the bell, email, Slack or a webhook.
Audience — a persona or a group of personas that reacts to content. Used interchangeably with persona in the app.
Audience Library — the page where personas are organised into panels and categories.
Auto tag — a tag applied automatically to every document: CEO, executives, company, communication type and any you add.
Backload — the initial import of press releases, transcripts and documents when a workspace is created.
Brief — the statement of intent that drives a narrative test's methodology.
Category (audience group) — the group a persona is filed under, such as Media or Investors & Analysts. Carries a grade and trend on the dashboard.
Comms Sources — the page that manages every ingestion source: feeds, newsrooms, crawled sites and searches.
Compare Narratives — the executive and company comparison across themes; called Insights in earlier versions.
Document — anything in the Communications library: an upload, a press release, a transcript, an article or a social post.
Evidence to deploy — the cards in a narrative report telling you what support to add for a gap.
Favourite — a starred persona, category or panel; favourites appear first in every picker.
Focus group — several personas in one chat, up to ten.
Gap — a place where a narrative fails to land with an audience, identified by the Narrative Testing Studio.
Grade — an A to F rating a persona gives a document, on a locked scale.
Grounded context — the refreshable background a persona draws from its linked public sources.
Knowledge base — a set of crawled sources (newsroom, RSS, search, social, connected drive) that can be linked to personas.
Marketplace — Kumkuat's catalogue of public-figure audiences and packs.
MCP — Model Context Protocol; the way Claude Desktop and Claude Code connect to your workspace.
Panel — a saved set of personas in the Audience Library.
Persona — one synthetic audience member with a profile, tone, interests, concerns and linked sources.
Pillar — a group of themes.
Project — a folder for one initiative: its documents, runs and default audience.
Pull-through — how well a draft carries the workspace's key messages.
Quick reaction test — a one-off scorecard on pasted or uploaded text; nothing is stored.
Resonance Report — the report produced by the Narrative Testing Studio.
Scorecard — a document graded by a panel of personas; the page was called Simulations in earlier versions.
Signal — a statement extracted from a document against a theme.
Theme (signal template) — what Kumkuat listens for in documents: a name, description, category and extraction prompt.
Voice profile — an analysed writing and speaking style for an executive, used by Content Writing.
Workspace — one company's space: audiences, documents, members and API keys.
